SphereLab makes plugins for Adobe After Effects. This policy explains what happens to personal data in connection with this website and those products. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
SphereLab is operated by Ricardo Mendes, an individual developer based in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Questions about this policy or about your data go to ricardo@rgmendes.com.
This site does not ask you to create an account, and it has no contact form, comments or login. It does not collect your name, address or payment details.
The site may use analytics and advertising cookies from Meta (the Meta pixel) and Google (Google Ads and Google Analytics) to measure whether advertising works. These set cookies in your browser and report aggregate events such as "a page was viewed" or "a link to the store was clicked". If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, nothing is loaded until you choose: the site asks first, and Decline means no advertising cookie is ever set. Everywhere else you can block them with any standard content blocker or in your browser settings. Either way the site works exactly the same.
The product videos on this site are hosted on YouTube. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you click play: until then you are looking at a still image served from this site. When you do click, the player is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com, and from that point Google receives your IP address and can set cookies under its own privacy policy. If you would rather it never happened, do not press play.
The site also loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google sees a request from your browser on every page view. No cookie is set by that request.
SphereLab products are sold through aescripts + aeplugins, which is a separate company. Purchases, payment details, licence keys and account data are handled entirely by them, under their own privacy policy and terms. SphereLab never sees your payment information.
As the developer, SphereLab receives an order notification for each sale containing the product, the order number, the amount and the buyer's name and email address. That information is used only to provide support, to honour licences, and to keep accounting records required by Brazilian law. It is not used for marketing, it is not added to any mailing list, and it is never sold or shared with anyone else.
If you write for support, whether through the aescripts helpdesk or by email, the message and your address are kept for as long as needed to resolve the issue and to understand recurring problems in the products.
Order records are kept for as long as Brazilian tax and accounting rules require. Support correspondence is kept while it is useful and deleted when it is not. Analytics and advertising data are held by Meta and Google under their own retention rules, not by SphereLab.
Under the Brazilian LGPD, and under the GDPR if you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can ask what personal data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted where there is no legal duty to keep it, and object to its use. Write to ricardo@rgmendes.com and you will get an answer. If the data sits with aescripts rather than with SphereLab, you will be told so and pointed to them.
These are professional tools. The site and the products are not directed at children, and no data is knowingly collected from them.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be obvious rather than buried.
